Virtual re-inspection saves vessel time
CHALLENGE
The customer had identified questionable flowline curvature in a fly-over video. Was it out of spec? They didn’t want to send a vessel back to find out.
Luckily, they had ROV3D Recon mounted at the time…
SOLUTION
They send us an email, “Wondering if you happened to capture data on the rest of our field.” Why yes, yes we did….
Because ROV3D is always left mounted on the ROV, it was there to collect data throughout their campaign.
So we cross-referenced ROV3D’s Dive Log to their exported Events from Nexus, and virtually re-flew the passively collected video.
OUTCOME
ROV3D Recon allowed the client to avoid redeploying the vessel and we provided models of the 17 flowline segments they needed. Not one additional moment of vessel time was used.
